Biking in Astoria

NYC Bike Sharing Moves Forward

The latest from the Times.

Bike and Beer

I like this concept: “Red Lantern Bicycles, in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, is the only cycling shop in the state with a liquor license.”  Of course Andres over at Bicycle Repairman Corp has never objected when I bring my own. Though I do like to share.

Don’t get smug…

…But it turns out biking actually is good for society. It’s official now, because it’s quantified. One mile on a bike is a 42¢ economic gain to society, one mile driving is a 20¢ loss. Don’t let it go to your head… or expect a payout. [thanks to J.B.]
